Train Guard Vacancy
The Llanberis Lake Railway requires a Guard to undertake train guard duties as instructed in accordance with the railway’s timetable and in conjunction with the company rota.
The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends during the operating season. During non-operational periods, the successful candidate will provide general assistance with maintenance duties in the workshop and must have an understanding for basic engineering tasks. Ideally, candidates will have experience of working in a railway environment. A copy of the full job description is available on request. Full training will be given.
Hourly rate will be negotiable dependant on experience.

Café Assistant Vacancy
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Café Assistant to join our team until the end of November 2025. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with food preparation, service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for hospitality and a desire to contribute to a dynamic café environment. You will be working an average of 15-24 hours a week between 16th February to 31st March and 21st September to 27th November, and 24 - 30 hours a week between 1st April to 20th September which will include weekend shift work plus additional days during busy periods.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service, taking orders, and serving food and beverages promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces, kitchen, and storage areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Handle payment transactions accurately and efficiently while following company policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or catering environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- A passion for hospitality and providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
